Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about starting your journey with Third Eye Therapy CA
I'm not sure if my problems are "bad enough" for therapy -- is that okay?
Absolutely. You do not need to be at your lowest point to benefit from therapy. Whether you are working through a specific challenge or simply wanting to deepen your self-awareness and growth, therapy can be a meaningful investment in yourself and your well-being.
Is it normal to feel nervous about starting therapy?
Completely. Many people feel nervous or uncertain before their first session and that is entirely okay. It takes courage to take this step, and I want you to know that you will be met with warmth, understanding, and zero judgment from the moment we connect.
What types of issues do you work with?
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of challenges including anxiety, life transitions, relationship difficulties, family conflict, self-esteem, and more. Every person's experience is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs.
Do you work with clients virtually?
Yes, Third Eye Therapy CA is a fully virtual practice. Research has shown that telehealth therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, offering the added convenience and comfort of attending sessions from wherever you feel most at ease.
Does your practice accept insurance?
I am currently a private pay practice and do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill upon request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
Please reach out to discuss fees and available options. I am committed to making therapy as accessible as possible.
How long are sessions?
Sessions typically last 50 minutes.
How often will we meet?
Sessions are typically held once a week. However, the frequency may be adjusted based on your individual needs and goals as we progress through our work together.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Scheduling is simple — you can reach out through the contact form on this website, and I will get back to you promptly to find a time that works best for you.
What happens during the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you are hoping to work on, and what you are looking for in the process. There is no pressure to share everything right away — we move at whatever pace feels comfortable for you.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, everything discussed in our sessions is strictly confidential. There are a few legal and ethical exceptions — such as if there is imminent risk of harm to yourself or others — which will be discussed in detail during our first session.
Is virtual therapy secure and private?
Yes. All sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Do all family members need to attend every session?
Not necessarily. While it is generally most beneficial for all members to be present, there may be times when individual sessions are recommended as part of the overall family therapy process. This will be discussed and decided together based on what best supports your family's goals.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that all cancellations or reschedules be made at least 48 hours before your scheduled session. Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours of the session will be charged the full session fee. If you need to make any changes to your appointment please don't hesitate to reach out as soon as possible so we can find a time that works best for you.
